Samkelo Mangi, better known as Samusa, is making waves in South African hip hop and he’s hard at work on a new project “Great Things Awaits”.
“I started rapping back in 2014 after a friend invited me to a studio. He told me I should take music seriously, and from that moment, I never looked back,” Samusa recalls.
He began sharing his music in 2019 on Audiomack, SoundCloud, and YouTube, where fans can stream his tracks. Over the years, he has performed multiple times at Artstudio Hip Hop Sessions, organized by South Boys Entertainment, and he’s excited about a possible performance at the Timeline Radio Awards this year.
“In 2023, I was nominated at the first Timeline Radio Awards for Best Male Hip Hop Artist, competing with big names like Father Teq and Hyphentis and I won!” he shares proudly. In 2024, he was nominated at the Mzansi Art Media Awards for Upcoming Hip Hop Artist and later won Best Hip Hop Song at the second annual Timeline Radio Awards.
“I’m proud to say I’m nominated again this year for Best Mixtape at the third annual Timeline Radio Awards,” adds Samusa.
“Rapping is my heart. My music can touch you, make you vibe, and make you think,” he concludes.
