Sizanani CDP hosted a community health awareness campaign at the loveLife Y-Centre in Ext 6A today, 26 June, with a special focus on elderly people and the youth.
The event was held in collaboration with Ext 7a Clinic and aimed to bring important health services closer to the community.
Residents received access to several free health services, including HTS, vital signs screening, diabetes testing, immunisation, PSA testing, family planning, condom distribution and Pap smear services.
Nomsa Sibaya, Project Manager at Sizanani Community Development Project, said: “Our aim is to bring essential health services closer to the people, especially the elderly and youth. We are grateful to Ext 7 Clinic for working with us to make this awareness campaign a success.”
Community members welcomed the initiative, saying it helped them check their health status and receive important health information without having to travel far.
The awareness campaign encouraged community members, especially the elderly and young people, to take their health seriously and make use of available clinic services.
