On 26 April, the vibrant community of Orange Farm came alive as Farmton LGBTI hosted its 7th Annual Orange Farm Pride at Bakgatleng. The event was a resounding success, drawing attendees from across South Africa, including North West, Pretoria and Limpopo, all united in a celebration of love, identity and resilience.
The day’s festivities were masterfully guided by the charismatic Madibuseng Nhlapo, whose energy and passion set the tone for a day filled with joy, reflection and solidarity. Under her stewardship, the event transcended mere celebration, becoming a powerful statement of visibility and unity for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Pride events like Orange Farm Pride are more than just parades; they are vital affirmations of identity and community.
Madibuseng Nhlapo encapsulated the spirit of the day, stating: “Pride is not just about celebration; it’s about visibility, affirmation and the ongoing fight for equality. Events like these remind us of our strength and the importance of standing together.”
