In the heart of Orange Farm, a culinary revolution is simmering, led by 22-year-old Chef Derron Tiisetso Nkomo. The visionary founder of Exclusive Premium Eats, Chef Derron is redefining fine dining in the township, proving that gourmet experiences are not reserved for high-end restaurants alone.
A graduate in Consumer Sciences, majoring in Culinary Arts from the University of Zululand, Chef Derron combines technique, artistry and passion to craft unforgettable dining experiences. But for him, food is more than just a meal-it’s an experience, a journey and a tool for empowerment.
Chef Derron, told Orange Farm News: “I have always dreamed of owning a food factory and a cooking studio where I can share my passion for culinary arts with others. My goal is to provide young people from Orange Farm with the opportunity to experience the thrill of working in a professional kitchen and to learn about the science behind cooking.”
That dream took shape with Exclusive Premium Eats, his private chef business that brings bespoke, high-quality cuisine to clients seeking a refined touch. Yet, he faces a challenge: changing the perception of fine dining in Orange Farm.
“Many residents believe that hiring a private chef is expensive, but I want to prove that Exclusive Premium Eats is not only affordable but also offers exceptional value,” he explains.
“I believe my business has the potential to put Orange Farm on the map as a hub of entrepreneurial talent and innovation,” Derron shared.
For Chef Derron, Exclusive Premium Eats is more than just a business; it’s a catalyst for change. “I envision establishing a kitchen studio where I can empower aspiring chefs and entrepreneurs to pursue their culinary dreams. I want to create a platform for career expos, workshops and mentorship programs that will help shape the next generation of Chefpreneurs.”
By sharing his journey, Chef Derron hopes to inspire the next generation and attract the support needed to turn his vision into reality. “What I love most about Exclusive Premium Eats is the opportunity to share my passion for culinary arts with others. As a private chef, I get to create bespoke dining experiences that bring people together and make memories. But what really drives me is the potential to make a positive impact in Orange Farm. I’m looking for investors or partners to help grow my business and uplift my community,” he concluded.
