In the wake of a harrowing surge in murders plaguing Orange Farm, residents came together for a powerful Walk Prayer on 21 November in Lakeside Ext 2.

Organised by Apostle Motlalepule Noko and the Mashilo Dlamini Safety Committee in Lakeside Ward 2, the prayer sought divine intervention to put an end to the senseless violence.

The situation in Orange Farm has become dire, with nearly daily reports of lives lost. Residents are especially alarmed by the growing number of bodies discovered in Ext 1’s dam, heightening fears across the community.

The Walk Prayer drew a diverse group of attendees, including local community members, religious leaders, faith-based organisations and notable figures such as Ward 2 Councillor Jeanette Ramafikeng, representatives from the ANC, MK veterans and other stakeholders.

Addressing the crowd, organisers emphasised the need for both spiritual unity and practical measures to restore safety in Orange Farm. Community members walked together in solemn solidarity, praying for an end to the violence and a brighter future for their neighbourhoods.

The prayer not only reflected the community’s deep faith but also served as a reminder of the urgent need for intervention to address the root causes of crime in the area. Residents are hopeful that this collective action will bring change and healing to Orange Farm.
