The Minister of Transport, Sindisiwe Chikunga, will visit the accident scene on the N3 South and North Bound around Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal this afternoon
Five people were confirmed dead following an accident that involved five trucks, eight minibus taxis and twenty-two light motor vehicles. Chikunga will assess the level of damage and progress made so far in order to re-open the highway for traffic. She will be joined by the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) and KZN provincial traffic authorities.
