In the vibrant community of Drieziek 5, nestled next to the Multi-Purpose Centre, the Ward 5 Arts Forum has emerged as a beacon of opportunity and empowerment for artists, musicians, actors, and sports enthusiasts alike.
Founded by visionaries Nkosinathi Mbele, Mzwandile Chanza, Sphiwe Msibi, Katleho Nyoni, Kagiso Maako, and Christopher Khumalo, the forum aims to cultivate and showcase the diverse talents of the local youth. At the heart of the organization’s mission lies a commitment to providing both artistic and academic avenues for young people through after-school programs and creative activities.
With the launch held on 1 March, at Solwazi Primary School hall, the forum welcomed esteemed guests and local luminaries to celebrate the beginning of a transformative journey. Among the attendees were local artists from Drieziek 3 and 5, alongside Abel Mosianedy from the Orange Farm Arts Forum and Bowkid Mahlangu, the visionary behind Orange Farm Online TV.
The event was further enriched by the captivating performance of the PELEPELE Dancers, leaving a lasting impression on all who gathered.
Reflecting on the success of the launch, the organizers expressed gratitude for the collaborative spirit that infused the event.
