Born and raised in KwaZulu-Natal, Emerald Nokwethemba Sithole is a passionate and determined woman who now resides in Orange Farm, where she continues to make a positive impact through community involvement, youth empowerment and advocacy for body positivity.
Currently self-employed as a Nail Technician, Emerald is known for her strong work ethic and her willingness to embrace challenges. She enjoys socialising, helping others, and sharing ideas and advice that uplift and inspire those around her.
In 2026, she became a finalist in the Miss Curvylicious SA pageant, a platform she views as an opportunity to amplify her advocacy work and community initiatives. Through this journey, she aims to challenge stereotypes and encourage women to embrace their bodies with confidence and pride.
“I wanted a platform where I could showcase and prove that being thick is not an illness, nor should it be a reason for negative thoughts or body shaming. I want all plus-size women to embrace their beauty as a crown and stop hiding,” she said.

Emerald believes the title gives her a stronger voice and greater reach to expand her community impact and inspire positive change.
Reflecting on her experience, she describes the journey as empowering and transformative.
“When I first started, my goal was simply to step out of my comfort zone. However, this journey has taught me so much more about resilience and the importance of using my voice. From the inspiring women I have met to the community projects we have championed, every step has shaped me into a more confident and purpose-driven woman ready for this role,” she said.
As she continues her journey, Emerald remains committed to inspiring self-love, empowering young people, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
