On 26 March, Rise Up community leaders donated 200 cosmetic sets to local boys in an effort to discourage drug use and crime.
The sets containing soap, toothpaste, a toothbrush and roll-on, were distributed as part of a community-driven initiative to promote self-care and positive behaviour among young people.
Community leader, Khonzaphi Mbele, said the intervention aims to restore dignity and guide youth towards better choices.
“We want to encourage young boys to take care of themselves and stay away from drugs and criminal activities,” said Mbele.
Mbele also thanked the sponsors for their support, saying their contribution made the initiative possible. “We appreciate the sponsors for their generosity and for helping us make a positive impact in the lives of these young boys,” he said
