The Orange Farm Local Football Association (OFLFA) has launched an urgent call for volunteers to support its growing community programmes aimed at empowering young people through football, education, mentorship and social development.
Under the theme “Building a stronger community through football and unity,”the association is encouraging passionate and committed individuals to dedicate their time and skills to initiatives that create lasting positive change in Orange Farm.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of programmes, including youth development, school and community initiatives, sports coaching and mentorship, football tournaments, environmental projects, and other community-driven activities. According to the association, every volunteer plays a vital role in shaping a brighter future for local children and young people.
Speaking on behalf of the organisation, OFLFA Secretary Patrick Mokwena emphasised the importance of community involvement.
“Our association believes that football is more than just a game, it’s a powerful tool for building character, promoting unity and creating opportunities for young people. We are calling on community members to volunteer their time, skills and passion to help us inspire the next generation. Together, we can make a meaningful difference and build a stronger Orange Farm,” said Mokwena.
The association says volunteers will not only make a real impact in the community but will also gain valuable experience, develop new skills and become part of a dedicated team committed to youth empowerment.
OFLFA believes that keeping young people active, focused and inspired is a shared responsibility that requires support from parents, local businesses, educators and residents alike.
