A second opportunity to compete against some of Soweto’s top youth teams awaits Young Magic FC after the club was selected to represent Orange Farm at an Under-15 Top 16 tournament on 23 September.
The team will once again travel away from home to test itself against some of Soweto’s top youth sides, with coach Sam “Guardiola” Mokoena describing the opportunity as an important moment for the club.
Mokoena said the tournament will carry extra meaning as it coincides with celebrations for his mother, Annah Mokoena’s birthday.
He said the team will be determined to perform strongly and hopes to bring the trophy home as a special birthday gift.
“This tournament will be personal for me because I will be in my mom’s birthday celebration mood. We are grateful for another opportunity to compete against top teams away from home,” Mokoena said.
He added that his mother has been an important source of support in his life and dedicated the upcoming tournament to her.
Young Magic FC will now prepare for the Top 16 competition as it aims to make Orange Farm proud and challenge for honours in Soweto.
