On 11 February, the Orange Farm Holy Joint from Ext 7b graced the stage at the Soweto Theater, captivating music enthusiasts at the Indigenous Festival Event as part of the City of Johannesburg’s Arts Alive initiative.
This annual event holds special significance for Orange Farm Holy Joint, as they’ve had the privilege to perform twice.
Reflecting on the experience, Kgotlello Makhura, choir manager, said: “It was an enriching opportunity for our choristers and the choir as a whole. We not only had the chance to connect with representatives from the City of Johannesburg but also to showcase our talent to a diverse audience. Events like these allow us to proudly represent Orange Farm while providing valuable performance experience to our members. As an artist development entity, our goal is to nurture talent and create opportunities, exemplified by our chorister Thando Mdluli, a standout contestant on a previous season of Idols SA.”
