Born in Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal and raised in Orange Farm, DJ Ndofire (Siyabonga Ndaba) began his journey into music at a young age after moving through local schools including Madume and Leshata. It was there that he built new friendships that would later shape his path into the music world.
In 2009, Ndofire was introduced to DJing by Elias Motlane, who taught him the basics of beatmatching and mixing tracks. That early guidance sparked a deep interest in the craft, pushing him to spend more time learning and refining his skills. Around the same time, he began sourcing music from DJ Lamor Tshepo Masilo, and over time noticed that they shared a similar sound. This influenced his decision to focus on hip hop, a move that helped him build his identity and grow his name within the local music scene.
Ndofire has been active in competitive DJing for several years, including reaching the semi-finals of the Red Square DJ Competition in 2025. Although he did not win the final round, the experience strengthened his determination to keep pushing forward.
His entry into the “Clash of the Regions” competition came unexpectedly. After seeing a poster shared by a friend, he initially went along just to support. However, a chance encounter at Eyethu Mall, where a promotional truck for the competition was stationed, changed everything. Curious, he approached the registration team and officially entered the contest.

Now a finalist, Ndofire says reaching this stage already feels like a major achievement.
“I’ve come a long way from Orange Farm. Music shaped my identity, and DJing gave me purpose. Making it to the finals is not just a win for me, it’s a gateway to recognition, bookings, and bigger st.ages.”
A win, he believes, would not only be a personal breakthrough but also open doors for more bookings, wider recognition, and opportunities to perform in new environments.
For DJ Ndofire, the journey from Orange Farm’s local scenes to the competition stage is proof that persistence, passion, and being ready for opportunity can turn an ordinary day into a life-changing moment
