While many teenagers are still figuring out their future careers, 17-year-old Monde Maseko, popularly known as Morden Kiing, is already working towards making his mark in the Amapiano music scene.

Hailing from Extension 2, the young artist is proving that age is no barrier to pursuing big dreams as he develops his talents as a musician, producer, dancer and master of ceremonies (MC).

With a passion for entertainment and a growing online following, Maseko is gradually building a name for himself through energetic street-dance videos and music previews shared on social media.

His ability to combine different creative talents sets him apart as an emerging entertainer who is determined to explore every opportunity the music industry has to offer.

Reflecting on his ambitions, Maseko emphasised the importance of believing in one’s abilities and remaining committed to personal goals.

“I want people to know that it doesn’t matter where you come from or how old you are. If you believe in your talent and keep working hard, you can achieve your dreams. Music and dancing are my passion, and I want to make my family and community proud while inspiring other young people to believe in themselves,” said Maseko.

Rather than focusing solely on performing, the teenager is also developing his skills behind the scenes as a music producer, allowing him to explore the creative process from making beats to bringing music to life through performance.

His street-dance content has become an important part of his growing public profile, showcasing his energy, rhythm and connection to the Amapiano sound.

In an era where social media has become a powerful platform for discovering new talent, young creatives like Maseko are finding ways to introduce themselves to audiences without waiting for opportunities from established record labels.

His journey also highlights the wealth of untapped talent within township communities, where aspiring entertainers are increasingly using digital platforms to showcase their abilities and build their own identities.

For the young performer, balancing the different roles of artist, producer, dancer and MC presents an opportunity to develop a versatile career in entertainment.

Although still at an early stage of his musical journey, Maseko represents a generation of young South Africans who are embracing creativity, technology and the country’s homegrown Amapiano movement to pursue their ambitions.

As he continues sharing his music and performances online, Morden Kiing is steadily laying the foundation for what he hopes will become a successful career in the entertainment industry.

His story serves as a reminder that the next generation of musical talent could be emerging from the very streets and neighbourhoods that surround us.
