The Exchange Ground in Ext 7b came alive as Ananda Marga hosted its annual U15 soccer tournament, concluding a vibrant two – weekend event held from 10 – 21 May.
The final saw One+One crowned champions, taking home soccer kits, a trophy and 18 gold medals. Runners – up United Future Stars earned silver medals, kits and footballs.
Outstanding players included Mfanelo Mdolo -Goalkeeper, Blessing – Defender, Mpho – Top Goal Scorer, Gift Akung – Midfielder and Melusi – named Player of the Tournament.
The tournament honoured the birth anniversary of P.R. Sarkar (1921–1990), founder of Ananda Marga, who championed unity and youth development. Around 700 young players participated, showcasing talent and discipline on the field.
Organiser Dada Krishna emphasised the event’s role in building future champions and steering youth away from negative influences. “It keeps our youngsters engaged,” he said.
The initiative aligns with Ananda Marga’s mission to unlock inner potential, promote positive engagement and instil discipline among youth.The event was made possible by Dada Krishna, Madam Faith Thwala, Jabulani Bond and Tizasstar. Dada Mantra awarded prizes. Participants enjoyed biryani, fruits, juice and sweets – a perfect end to a celebration of sport, unity and youth empowerment.
