Orange Farms police are investigating three separate murder incidents that occurred at different locations and times over the past few days, leaving the community in shock.
First incident – Drieziek 5: On Friday, 17 January 2025, at approximately 20:30, police responded to a murder scene at Mokokotlong informal settlement in Drieziek 5. Upon arrival, they found the lifeless body of an African male outside his business site. Reports indicate that the victim was assisting a customer along the Golden Highway, where he sold second-hand goods, when an unknown suspect suddenly fired multiple shots at him before fleeing the scene.
Second incident – Drieziek 9: Later that same night, at around 21:50, police were called to another murder scene in Drieziek 9. The body of another African male was discovered outside his residence. It is alleged that an unknown individual knocked on the victim’s door, demanding to see him. When the victim opened the door, the suspect opened fire, fatally wounding him.
Third incident – Drieziek 4: On Monday, 20 January, at about 08:30 in the morning, authorities were called to Drieziek 4, where they discovered the lifeless body of an unknown African male lying in the street. The victim had been shot multiple times and his hands were found tied with shoelaces. In all three cases, the motive behind the killings remains unknown and no arrests have been made yet. Murder case dockets have been opened and investigations are currently ongoing.
Orange Farms SAPS are urging anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to come forward.
