Orange Farm United Sports Academy’s Under-17 side collected maximum points after winning both of their Top 6 matches at the UMdlali WeDiski Podcast Road to Fun Day Soccer Tournament on Saturday.
The young side opened their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Spitz FC before producing a dominant 4-0 win against Young Magic FC to finish the day with six points, six goals scored and a clean sheet.
Coach Sinethemba Zondo praised his players for their commitment and discipline, saying the results reflected the hard work they have been putting in during training.
“I am proud of the boys’ performance. They showed hunger, discipline and teamwork on the field. We know there is still a long way to go, but these results give us confidence to keep pushing,” said Zondo.
The convincing performances placed Orange Farm United among the early front-runners in the Top 6 competition, with the team showing attacking quality and defensive strength throughout both fixtures.
In the day’s other results, Kweneng FC defeated Young Magic FC 3-2 before beating Mshengu XI FC 3-0, while Mshengu XI responded with a 4-3 victory over Spitz FC.
United will now look to maintain their unbeaten run as they continue their journey in the Road to Fun Day Soccer Tournament.
