The Orange Farm United Taxi Association (OFUTA) held its 13th electoral congress at Balmoral Gardens in De Deur on Thursday, 14 May 2026.
A total of 299 of the association’s 304 members in good standing attended the congress and cast their votes to elect a new executive committee that will lead the association for the next five years.
The election process was overseen by the Department of Transport, with representatives from several local taxi associations and leaders of the United Taxi Association Front (UTAF) present as observers.
The newly elected executive committee is as follows:
- Chairperson: Mr Z A Mazibuko
- Deputy Chairperson: Mr M E Hlongwane
- Secretary: Mr M P Ndaba
- Deputy Secretary: Mr M Nkabinde
- Treasurer: Mrs B C Mtshali
- Public Relations Officer: Mr B T Motsopa
- Disciplinary Committee Chairperson: Mr V I Mazibuko
- Grievances Officer: Mrs T M Mahlaza
- Training Officer: Mrs P A Tenza
All elected representatives accepted their positions and are expected to undergo training related to their respective roles in the association.
