Mpho Mamolete Fokane is turning her Miss Elegant Gauteng 2026 journey into an opportunity to support children in her community through a donation initiative at Ekuphumuleni Home of Peace and Development Centre.
Guided by the belief that “charity begins at home”, the Orange Farm finalist plans to donate essential items and spend time with children at the centre as part of her community outreach.
She will be joined by Phomello Minenhle Mulungo, the second princess of Miss Elegant Sedibeng, with the two young women using their pageant platforms to encourage community involvement and upliftment.
Fokane said her experience in pageantry has shown her that the journey is about more than appearance and competition.
Her coach, Nnini Melamu, has also played a role in shaping her understanding of pageantry by emphasising discipline, confidence, responsibility and using one’s voice with purpose.
“A crown may be worn on the head, but its true meaning should always be carried,” Fokane said.
Her campaign is driven by the motto “Building queens and kings of tomorrow”, with a focus on encouraging young people to understand the value of leadership, service and compassion.
Through the initiative, Fokane hopes to show that young people can use their platforms, no matter how big or small, to contribute positively to their communities.
