Mountain Road Park in Ext 2 buzzed with energy as young athletes showcased their talent at the Region G Sports & Recreation Netball Tournament, hosted by Zinhle Mkhwanazi, head coach of Liverpool Squad.

The one-day event featured U13, U16 and U19 divisions, with local pride, medals, and trophies on the line. Ext 1 sides dominated in the junior categories, while Ext 2 celebrated glory in the senior division.

The U13 games delivered end-to-end excitement. Orange Farm United impressed with victories over VYD (7–5), Ballers (10–6), and Hawks (11–5). VYD’s emphatic 11-1 win over Ballers and a heated 6- 6 draw between Liverpool Squad and Hawks stood out, but consistency crowned Orange Farm United as champions. Their prize included bibs, a trophy, a ball and gold medals.

In the U16 division, Orange Farm United extended their winning streak, overpowering Liverpool Squad 23 – 11. They lifted the trophy and celebrated with a full kit and gold medals cementing their dominance.

The U19 category brought explosive action. Liverpool Squad crushed Ballers 33 -12, but Ballers bounced back to defeat Panthers 17- 9, securing the title for Extension 2. Their victory earned them R1000 and 10 bronze medals.

The tournament ended on a high with cheers, trophies, and medal but its real triumph lay in the rising stars of Orange Farm, whose passion and talent left the community inspired and united.
