The South African Democratic Teachers’ Union (SADTU) Evaton South Branch held a candlelight ceremony on October 1 for its 2026 Grade 12 learners as they prepare for their final examinations.
Held under the theme, “Lighting the Way to Success”, the ceremony was aimed at encouraging and motivating matric learners as they enter one of the most important stages of their school journey.
The lighting of candles symbolised hope, determination and the path towards a brighter future, while reminding learners to remain focused on their goals during the examination period.
The gathering also provided an opportunity for SADTU members to show their support for the Class of 2026 and encourage learners to approach their examinations with confidence, discipline and perseverance.
As the matriculants prepare to put years of learning to the test, the ceremony served as a reminder that they have the support of their teachers and wider community behind them.
SADTU Evaton South Branch wished all Grade 12 learners success in their final examinations and encouraged them to continue working hard as they take the next step towards achieving their future goals.
