Healthcare services at Sebokeng Hospital are under scrutiny as the Gauteng Provincial Legislature’s Health Portfolio Committee conducts an oversight visit to assess the standard of care provided to communities in the Emfuleni Local Municipality.
Led by committee chairperson Ezra Letsoalo, the visit focuses on several areas that directly affect patients and the hospital’s ability to deliver effective healthcare services.
Among the issues being assessed are the quality of care and service delivery, the condition of hospital infrastructure and facilities, patient satisfaction and the availability of medicines and medical supplies.
“The purpose of this oversight visit is to assess the quality of healthcare services being provided to the community and to identify areas where improvements may be required,” said Letsoalo.
The committee is also engaging hospital management and healthcare professionals to gain a clearer picture of operational challenges and how these affect services on the ground.
Patients form an important part of the oversight process, with the visit providing an opportunity for the committee to hear about their experiences when accessing healthcare at the facility.
Letsoalo said the engagements would assist the committee in identifying good practices as well as areas requiring attention to improve the overall patient experience and delivery of healthcare services.
Sebokeng Hospital serves communities across Sebokeng and surrounding areas of Emfuleni, making the quality and reliability of its services an important part of public healthcare delivery in the region.
