The PLPDL Community League held its 2024 Season Award Ceremony on 14 December at Stretford Primary, celebrating the champions, runner-ups, and exceptional individuals of the season.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome and introduction by programme director, Jacob Majoale. This was followed by an address by Pastor David Mhlongo, setting a reflective and inspirational tone for the day.
The event featured speeches from key stakeholders, including Ward 5 Councillor Mxolisi Ndzondo, chairman of Major Football Dreamers Network and Kasi Games Show presenter, Nhlanhla Ngwenya and Zweli Ndlomo from Solve It Africa Foundation.
Other highlights included contributions by Orange Farm Sports Council chairperson, Pule Mofokeng and Lucky Mathetha from the Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts, Culture, and Recreation. Reports on the league’s performance and finances were presented by secretary Ms Fikise and treasurer Mthembu, respectively.
The event culminated in a keynote address by chairman Clement Mpe, followed by the much-awaited award presentations. Trophies, medals and special recognition awards were handed out to teams and individuals who made significant contributions during the season.
