On Friday, 24 January, at approximately 15h45, police in Orange Farm, successfully carried out an intelligence-driven operation that led to the arrest of a suspect in possession of drugs valued at R95 000.
“Acting on a tip-off from a reliable source, police were alerted to a male suspect allegedly dealing drugs from his business premises in Ext 3. Upon arrival, officers found the property owner and requested permission to search the premises, which was granted. During the search, authorities discovered a substantial quantity of Mandrex tablets along with live ammunition. The suspect was immediately arrested and the illicit items were seized as evidence,”shared Orange Farms SAPS communication officer, Sergeant Motsapi.
Station Commander, Brigadier MJ Manamela, commended the officers for their diligence in executing the operation, stating: “Drugs have a devastating impact on our communities, particularly the youth. Anyone involved in drug dealing is destroying the future of our country and must face the full force of the law.”The arrested suspect is set to appear before the Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court soon, facing charges of possession of drugs and live ammunition.
