Orange Farm – Seventeen-year-old Thandolwethu Sikwatsha from Ext 2 has been given an extraordinary opportunity – she’s been selected to participate in an international medical shadowing programme in Larissa, Greece!
A Grade 11 learner at Vulanindlela Secondary School, Thandolwethu is already a certified Apprentice Doctor and aspires to become a neurosurgeon – a dream that burns bright in her heart. This programme will give her hands-on experience alongside professionals in the medical field, boosting her career in a way very few South African learners ever experience. But she can’t do it alone.
To make this dream a reality, Thandolwethu needs to raise $3,800 (around R70,000) by 30 November 2025 to cover her travel and programme costs. Her family and community are rallying behind her, but every bit of help counts.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I’m ready to work hard, learn and make my community proud,” said Thandolwethu.
All donors will receive a “Thank You” Certificate as a token of her appreciation. Let’s come together and support this future doctor on her journey!
