On 24 July, Orange Farms SAPS, in collaboration with various government departments and GBV stakeholder forums, hosted a vibrant Career Day Exposition at Skhumbuzo/Siyaphambili Secondary Schools in Ext 2.
It was a red carpet rollout for the future a day dedicated to inspiring hope, igniting the desire to learn, and encouraging learners to become the best version of themselves.
Participating partners: SAPS, JMPD, EMS, Department of Health, Nedbank, PCO, OFUTA, NGOs and Disaster Management.
“Learners received valuable guidance on a wide range of career paths, especially within SAPS. Key divisions showcased included the K9 Unit, Flying Squad, Forensic Services, Criminal Record Centre, and Crime Scene Management,” said Orange Farm SAPS communication officer, Sgt SJ Motsapi.
Support services such as Supply Chain, Human Resources and Legal Services were also highlighted – showing that SAPS offers more than just frontline roles. Orange Farms GBV Coordinators and Sedibeng FCS engaged directly with learners, providing insight into their work and community impact. The SAPS team also outlined the application process, entry requirements and training programmes for those aspiring to join the police service.
The event concluded with learners enthusiastically visiting various exhibition stalls by sister departments and NGOs, eager to ask questions and explore their future possibilities.
