Bhekithemba Mthembu, Nobuhle Shabangu and Isaiah Sibeko founded the Sikhu Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing young talent in the media and entertainment industry.
At the heart of this mission is the Sikhu Acting and Filming (SAF) program, offering specialized training to students from various schools, focusing on acting, industry insights, and professional conduct. The SAF program selects 20 students from each partner school who show a keen interest in acting.
These students receive comprehensive training in acting techniques, insights into the workings of the media and entertainment industry, and guidance on maintaining professionalism. This holistic approach ensures students are well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities in the industry.
A standout feature of the SAF program is its talent scouting initiative in partnering schools. Talented students identified through this process earn roles in movies and series produced by Blaq Indi Productions, providing invaluable real-world experience. Additionally, Ringleader Media creates artist profiles for these students, showcasing their acting work and helping them present their talents to a broader audience.
The Foundation’s success is bolstered by strategic partnerships with industry leaders. Blaq Indi Productions offers students opportunities to participate in their movie projects, while Ringleader Media provides mentorship, industry expertise, and artist profile creation. These partnerships ensure students receive both practical opportunities and professional support, enhancing their chances of success in the competitive media and entertainment industry.
