A shooting in Drieziek 3, has left two people dead and two others injured after a group of armed suspects stormed a home on Sunday at around 19:30. According to a witness, he was sitting in the yard with his brother when four masked men, armed with pistols, entered and demanded to see their father.
Before they could respond, the intruders forced their way into the house and headed straight to the bedroom, where their parents were sleeping. The suspects opened fire, killing the witness’s father and brother instantly. The witness himself was shot and wounded, while his stepmother also sustained injuries. Both survivors were rushed to Stretford Clinic for medical attention.
Police are still investigating the motive behind the attack. “At this stage, the reason for the shooting is unknown.and no arrests have been made,” said Sergeant SJ Motsapi, urging anyone with information to come forward.
