A crime tracing operation conducted by the Orange Farms SAPS Detective Services led to the arrest of 28 suspects wanted for various offences in the Orange Farm and Poortjie policing areas on Sunday 28 March.
The operation, a part of efforts to track down suspects linked to serious crimes in the area resulted in arrests a range of offences, including attempted murder, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), common assault, malicious damage to property, and contravention of protection orders.
Orange Farms SAPS spokesperson, Sgt Shaan Motsapi, said: “Our members remain committed to tracing and arresting suspects who are wanted for serious crimes in our communities. Operations like these help ensure that those who break the law are held accountable.”
All 28 suspects have since appeared before the Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court, where they are facing charges related to the offences they are alleged to have committed.
Police encourage residents to continue working with law enforcement by reporting crime and sharing information that may assist investigations, as community cooperation plays an important role in keeping neighbourhoods safe.
