Ext 1 artist Samukelo Fakude, better known by his stage name Mr Obviious Rsa, is steadily building his name in the music industry through a combination of creativity, songwriting and visual storytelling.
The musician, songwriter, ghostwriter and videographer began making music in 2017 after developing a strong passion for music from a young age.
That passion eventually pushed him to create his own sound while also working behind the scenes and contributing to the work of other artists.
“I grew up with a deep love for music, and that love is what pushed me into creating my own sound and working behind the scenes for other artists as well,” Fakude said.
Beyond performing, MrObviious Rsa describes himself as a strategic artist who takes time to understand different aspects of the music industry.
For him, creating music goes beyond recording songs. His work also includes songwriting, ghostwriting and videography, allowing him to be involved in both the creative and visual sides of his craft.
“I don’t just create, I study and understand the music game. From writing to visuals, I handle my craft with intention and strategy,” he said.
MrObviious Rsa is also preparing to release a five-track EP, marking another step in his journey as an independent artist from Orange Farm.
Through the project, he hopes to continue developing his sound while showcasing the different skills he has built since beginning his music journey in 2017.
For the Orange Farm creative, the goal is to keep growing, creating and showing that local artists can build their careers through talent, consistency and a clear understanding of their craft.
