A high-level crime-combating briefing for Operation Shanela 2 took place on 7 June at the Pikitup Centre, bringing together key role-players in the fight against crime in the Orange Farm and Poortjie policing precincts.
The session was led by Acting Sedibeng District Commissioner, Brigadier MJ Manamela, who was joined by senior officials from the Provincial Office, Sedibeng District, and various law enforcement and government departments.
Among the delegates were: Mr Makuse from Emergency Medical Services (EMS); GTW PPI Van Rensburg; Bona Sera from the Department of Home Affairs; Thulani Sodumo from the Department of Community Safety.
Brigadier Manamela presented an in-depth overview of local crime trends and policing challenges, highlighting the need for a collaborative and proactive approach.
Operation Shanela 2 is a multi-agency initiative designed to enhance police visibility, improve coordination across departments and directly address community safety concerns within Sedibeng.
The operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement to restore public trust and ensure safer communities through joint intelligence, visible policing and community involvement.
