The Ananda Marga Champions League hosted its annual awards ceremony on 29 November at AMSAI Primary School, celebrating a full year of dedication, sporting excellence and positive youth development. Top achievers across all divisions received trophies, medals, soccer kits and ball prizes, marking the success of the U11, U13, U15 and U17 champions.
This year’s league brought together 64 teams, each consisting of about 25 children and youths aged 11 to 17, who competed every weekend throughout the year. Individual brilliance was also recognised, with awards presented to outstanding players, top scorers, defenders, midfielders and goalkeepers-highlighting Orange Farm’s growing football talent.
Beyond the celebration, the initiative continues to play a vital role in the community by keeping more than 1,600 young people engaged in sport and away from drugs and criminal influences. The league remains a positive force in the Ananda Jayanti area.
The 2025 champions were Black Vultures in the U17 division, Fortune Talent in both the U15 and U11 divisions, and Future Stars in the U13 division.
Top goal scorers were Zuma Buyco (U17), Thapelo Richard (U15), Gift Silinda (U13) and Iwandla Mthunci (U11).
