Isifiso Sami, the latest film by multi-talented singer, producer and songwriter Mvex, is a gripping drama set in the heart of Slovoville, Soweto.
The film follows the unraveling of a music group torn apart by jealousy, betrayal and the harsh realities of the music industry. At the core of the story is the rocky relationship between Sbu and Lebo, shaken by rising materialistic expectations and personal ambition.
Meanwhile, Amanda’s intentions are unmasked her interest in Lebo driven more by fame and fortune than genuine love. As the characters are pulled in different directions, they are forced to confront the cost of their choices in a world where loyalty is tested and dreams can fade in an instant.
Though filmed in Slovoville, the production proudly features talented actors from Orange Farm, blending two vibrant communities to bring authenticity and depth to the story.
Speaking about his inspiration, Mvex shared: “I created Isifiso Sami from my own journey as an artist. I’ve seen how small things like pride, pressure, or misplaced priorities can stand in the way of a dream. This film is a reminder: never sacrifice your happiness for someone else and always think ahead about the consequences of your choices.”
The project is a full creative vision brought to life by Mvex, who wrote, directed, shot, edited and produced the film under Four Skeem Production.
The official trailer is now available on YouTube, with the full film set to premiere on 21 August, also on YouTube.
