The Ekuphumuleni Home of Peace Organisation & Development Centre has issued an urgent appeal for donations after announcing that the safe house is operating without external funding and has run out of essential supplies, including food and toiletries, for the abandoned and abused women and children under its care.
The organisation, located in Stretford 9, Phase 2, confirmed that severe financial hardship has left it struggling to meet basic operational expenses. Management said the lack of resources has created a “critical shortage of essential supplies,” threatening the wellbeing of the vulnerable residents who rely on the centre for safety, nourishment, and stability.
Ekuphumuleni Home of Peace provides refuge and support for women and children seeking escape from abuse, neglect, and unsafe conditions. The centre emphasised that donations of food, hygiene items, and financial support are urgently needed to sustain daily operations.
In addition to the immediate crisis, the organisation is also planning a Christmas Day event intended to bring comfort and joy to the children living at the safe house. They are appealing to the public for contributions of food, treats, or small gifts to help make the holiday meaningful for the young residents.
The center’s leadership says community support is critical at this time, noting that any assistance will directly impact the lives of vulnerable families seeking protection and stability.
