Founded in 2015 in Ext 2, Ekeesoldier Recording Studios was established with a simple but powerful vision: to give local artists a chance to chase their dreams without being held back by distance or finances.
“We believe nothing should stand in the way of a dream,” says founder Thabo “Thabo Splash” Melato.
What began as a hip-hop-focused studio has since grown into a versatile creative hub, now producing Afro-pop, house, deep house, amapiano, and more. The studio has already worked with a range of rising talents, including Rizzlar, Master M, Marox, Skallkwest, Remedy, and Thashi, while also supporting others such as Big West and Manash.
Beyond music, Thabo has ventured into podcast production with shows like The Kindness Circle and Amalinda.Ekeesoldier isn’t just about music. The studio also provides podcast recording, music video production, and professional photography. Expanding even further, the brand has launched Ekeesoldier Wear, and has actively promoted artists through platforms like the Johannesburg 2 Vaal Cyphers show.
