A colourful cultural celebration took place on 10 October at Clean Touch in Ext 6a, where 17 young girls aged 12 to 18 competed in the Miss Indoni Orange Farm 2025 pageant.
The event aimed to celebrate different cultures and traditions, revive the spirit of Ubuntu, and teach young girls to take pride in their roots. Nomcebo Hlongwane walked away with the crown, while Siyamthanda Ncala and Refiloe Sebatjane were named first and second princesses respectively.
Organisers said the purpose of the event was to restore cultural values and show the youth that embracing one’s heritage is both powerful and beautiful. Participants showcased traditional attire, dance, and speeches that reflected their understanding of identity and unity across diverse cultures.
Beyond the competition, the event promoted the message that culture is something to be celebrated and preserved, encouraging young people to live the spirit of Ubuntu in their daily lives.
