On 10 January, Blue Whales FC lifted the Born to Win Tournament trophy at City Park Grounds in Ext 1 after winning on penalties following a goalless draw against Young Juventus FC.
Blue Whales held their nerve to secure a 4–3 victory and clinch the title.
Orange Farm Local Football Association’s (OFLFA) secretary Patrick Mokwena told OFN: “We congratulate Blue Whales on winning this tournament and commend all teams for their discipline and commitment throughout the competition”.
He also acknowledged the role played by partners and supporters in ensuring the success of the event. “We thank VYG for partnering with the LFA and Open View for their support, which helped make this tournament a success,” he added.
The Born to Win Tournament highlighted the depth of football talent in Orange Farm, as OFLFA continues to work with partners to grow the game at community level.
