On Saturday, 28 March, emerging author Lucas Malope November, officially launched his debut book, Becoming the Legacy, in partnership with the Legacy Within Foundation. Raised in Sebokeng Zone 3, November now resides in Lakeside.

The launch event brought together community members, readers, and supporters to celebrate a work that challenges traditional ideas about legacy and personal growth.

Speaking to OFN, November explained the inspiration behind his book: “The reason I wrote this book is because I’ve seen the trend where people define legacy as something you leave behind. But it is not something you just leave behind-it is something you live within.”

The author highlighted that Becoming the Legacy encourages readers to live purpose-driven lives and to actively shape their futures, rather than being defined by their past.

“I would like the person reading this book to know that they should live with a purpose, transforming their mindsets,” he added.

November also reflected on the writing process, revealing that completing the book took him two years. One of the most challenging aspects, he said, was ensuring a clear and cohesive structure throughout the book.

“The most difficult part was differentiating between the introduction and Chapter 1. I had to learn how to align them and ensure cohesion from Chapter 1 through to the conclusion,” he explained.
