On 29 May, The Backyard Sessions in Drieziek 4 lit up the local entertainment scene with a powerful, free music workshop aimed at uplifting upcoming artists and DJs around Orange Farm.
The session brought together a line-up of skilled DJs, musicians and industry experts who generously shared their knowledge covering everything from understanding music contracts to knowing your rights and the right platforms to take your music to.
The main mission? To equip artists with the tools, confidence and connections they need to thrive in the industry. The organisers, a passionate group of six creatives, also opened up about how The Backyard Sessions began-an initiative that now happens every first Sunday of the month.
The day wasn’t just about learning; it was about networking, collaborating and creating a supportive space for creatives to grow together. Attendees left inspired, grateful and ready to take their craft to the next level.
