Ananda Marga hosted a successful International Yoga Day celebration on Saturday, 21 June, at the Amsai Primary School Football Ground.
The event began at 2pm and drew a remarkable crowd of 4,351 people from the community and surrounding areas. Attendees were treated to a powerful yoga demonstration led by Dada Mantra and Dada Gunatmananda, who guided participants through poses, breathing techniques and deep relaxation practices.
The event not only celebrated the physical benefits of yoga but also highlighted its deeper spiritual and emotional impact. In the spirit of service and compassion, the organisers distributed 180 free T-shirts and 175 warm winter jerseys, while attendees also received meals, fruits and bottled water throughout the day.
Speaking on the importance of yoga, Dada Krishna, said: “Yoga increases longevity and gives a radiant, youthful appearance. It boosts vital energy through deep breathing, balances glandular secretions, restores emotional harmony and helps prevent disease. Most importantly, it removes stress and brings peace to the body and mind.”
The event closed with a renewed sense of unity, wellness and commitment to living a balanced life through yoga.
