On 7 December, Ananda Marga hosted a vibrant awards ceremony at AMSAI Primary School to celebrate the winners of their Champions League.

The event brought together talented young footballers, their families and community members to honour exceptional performances across three age categories: U11, U13 and U15.

The team champions of the league included Two Touch FC in the U11 category, Madiba United in the U13 category and FTASD in the U15 category. These teams displayed remarkable skill and determination throughout the competition, earning their well-deserved titles.

Individual players were also recognised for their standout performances. Prince Shange of Two Touch FC was awarded the Best Goalkeeper in the U11 category, alongside impressive performances from players like Kamelelo Sebela of FTASD and Siphesihle Mofokeng from Young Juventus.

In the U13 category, Kamohelo Lee from Madiba United took the top spot, with Nkosingiphile Ntuli from FTASD and Karabo Motaung from Dangerous Darkies also receiving recognition. For the U15s, Thokozani Khoadi from FTASD was named Best Goalkeeper, followed by Dumisa Khambule from Dangerous Darkies and Nhlanhla Khambule from Future Stars. Defenders also shone brightly, with Shimmy Mokona of Two Touch FC recognised as the best in the U11 category.

Other notable defenders included Aphiwe Twala of FTASD and Julio Ubissie from Madiba United. In the U13 category, Blessing Chauke of Madiba United led the pack, while Osten Kotaka of Dangerous Darkies and Jabulani Motloung of Drieziek Lions were among those acknowledged.

For the U15s, Manqoba Ramashiya of FTASD emerged as the top defender, with strong performances from Thabo Hlangeni of Black Vultures and Tisetso Moshoeshoe of Messi Academy.

The Outstanding Player awards celebrated individual brilliance, with Lesedi Makena taking the honours for the U11s, Simphesihle Motaung for the U13s, and Mkhululi Dolashe for the Under 15s. The Champions League, an initiative by Bethuel Motolo, was coordinated by Thandi Nkosi, Stanley Segone, and Lebohang Mofokeng.

The event’s program director, Thabiso Chakane, ensured everything ran smoothly. Attendees enjoyed a festive atmosphere complete with delicious treats, including apples, bananas, sweets and juice, rounding off the celebrations on a high note.

The ceremony highlighted the immense talent in the community, inspiring young players to pursue excellence in sport while fostering a spirit of unity and achievement.
