Mpho Gwala, known as Africa Zawadi from Ext 7a, embarked on his musical journey in the early 2000s. Despite not releasing any albums or EPs, he dedicated his time to mastering the piano and music production.
Now, after years of preparation, he’s poised to unveil his debut single, promising fans an electrifying hit. Over the weekend, he filmed the music video for “Ishaye” in Thokoza, drawing inspiration from the vibrant township lifestyle. Produced by Umcinga Agency, the video is set to premiere on 4 May.
Speaking to Orange Farm News, Africa Zawadi shared his experiences performing in various venues around Johannesburg, including nightclubs and local shows. Currently, he’s focused on promoting his upcoming album, with plans for a promotional video already in the works.
As an independent artist, he’s open to collaborations and eager to collaborate with fellow musicians.
