For 19-year-old Anton Selinda, birthdays are not just about celebrations – they are about giving back. As part of his 19th birthday on 28 December, Anton will host a special charity daytime event at Thoko’s Palace, Orange Farm Ext 2, with the aim of raising funds and collecting sanitary pads for girls in need.
This initiative is close to Anton’s heart, one he launched a few years ago to empower young women and restore their dignity. “For me, it’s about community empowerment. No girl should have to miss school or feel less because they can’t afford sanitary towels,” he said.
The event promises non-stop entertainment, with live performances from popular local artists, fun activities, and a powerful message of hope. Attendees are encouraged to bring donations of sanitary pads or contribute towards the cause.
Anton is calling on the community, organisations, and supporters to join hands in making a difference. “This is bigger than me – it’s about changing lives,” he added.
