On 13 February, Drieziek 4 Rise Up community leaders donated 300 sanitary pads and toilet rolls to girls across the Drieziek community, supporting their wellbeing and promoting positive life choices.
The initiative is part of the group’s ongoing efforts to empower young people and show that they are valued.

Community leader Khonzaphi Mbele said the donation was meant to remind youth that they are supported and encouraged to stay away from crime. “We want the youth to know that they are loved and that crime is not the solution. We will continue helping them until they understand that there are people who care about their future,” Mbele said.
He added: “I would also like to thank our sponsor, Cllr Mangwenju, for donating the sanitary products that made this initiative possible.”
Rise Up leaders said they plan to continue organising similar projects aimed at addressing the challenges faced by young people in the community
