Sesethu Mabunzi (26) from Ext 8 is proof that determination can turn challenges into opportunities. Stationed outside Nelgate Shopping Complex, she sells snacks, sweets and other items to make a living.
What began as a small hustle is now a growing venture that enables her to meet her daily needs. Sesethu told Orange Farm News: “Getting a job nowadays is very difficult. Instead of stressing about that, I created employment for myself. I’m not making much, but I can afford what I need.”
Despite her passion, working on the streets comes with challenges. “When it rains, I can’t sell. But I love what I do. I’ve made friends, built relationships and hope to see my business grow even further,” she said.
Sesethu encourages others to take the leap into entrepreneurship. “Start small. Sell what you can to earn a living. It may not be much, but you’ll be able to eat, bathe and buy clothes. It’s better than nothing,” she added.
Her story is a reminder that small beginnings can lead to great achievements, inspiring others in the community to take charge of their circumstances.
