For Sebokeng Zone 10 artist Ray Amari, making music means finding her own voice and having the confidence to stand behind it. Now, she is sharing “My Body” with listeners as she continues building a sound rooted in storytelling and personal expression.
Ray shared links to the track on 3 October, adding a new development to a musical journey that began in 2022.
Born Refiloe Precious Sisanga in 2003, the songwriter also performs as A No Regular Pudi. She initially worked under the name Ray Amara before changing it in 2024 following platform conflicts with another artist.
Since then, creative partnerships have helped her explore her sound. She identifies her 2023 collaboration with producer BlvckmelaninZA as a breakthrough, while work with WillBeatsRSA, Grizzly The Producer and her former collective, YellowVerse, also contributed to her development.
But even as she learns from others, Ray remains clear about protecting her artistic identity.
“Stay true to what you want. Always stand on business,” she said.
Her writing draws on personal experiences, exploring healing, boldness and self-belief through emotive melodies and confident delivery. Her performances include appearances at Kulture Konnect.
Collaboration also features in her plans, with a forthcoming mixtape set to bring together Caleb March, DukiiGoneGreen, JustSam and Lobo. She has outlined plans for lead singles and a series of EPs as she introduces listeners to more of her work.
Alongside promoting her music, Ray has encouraged supporters to share her name and introduce friends to her work—a personal appeal to help her reach a wider audience.
At the heart of her ambitions is a desire to connect with people who feel unseen. As she shares “My Body”, Ray is inviting listeners to follow the next chapter of her story.
