Orange Farm’s Palesa Moeketsi is calling on her community to rally behind her as she competes for the Face of Finetown 2026 title.
Moeketsi has secured a place among the finalists in the third annual competition and says her participation is about more than winning a crown. She hopes to use the opportunity to represent young women from Orange Farm and Finetown while encouraging girls to pursue their ambitions regardless of where they come from.
“This journey is not just about me, but about representing Orange Farm and Finetown and inspiring girls in our communities to believe that their dreams are valid no matter where they come from,” Moeketsi said.
Now, she needs the public behind her as voting forms part of her journey through the competition.
Her goal, she said, is to bring the crown home and show other young women from township communities that their backgrounds do not have to determine how far they can go.
“My goal is to bring the crown home to our community, but I need our community’s support and votes to make it possible,” she said.
Moeketsi is competing under the public choice voting reference FOFT 005.
According to her official competition poster, voting packages start at R5 for three votes, with additional options available for supporters who would like to cast more votes.
As she continues through the competition, Moeketsi hopes increased community support will not only strengthen her campaign but also provide a platform to inspire other young girls to confidently pursue opportunities available to them.
For her, representing Orange Farm on the Face of Finetown stage is already an opportunity to show what young women from the area can achieve.
Community members who would like to support Moeketsi can follow Face of Finetown on its social media platforms for competition and voting information.
