Kwanele Don Vilankulu popularly known as Kay de Don, is bringing a fresh wave of love vibes with his new Dancehall Afropop single “Say Ma Name”, released on May 9.
The track taps into something simple but powerful – that butterfly feeling when someone special says your name. Over smooth, easy-going melodies and a catchy rhythm, Kay de Don turns an everyday love moment into a song that feels light, playful and relatable.
Born and raised in Orange Farm Ext 7b, Kay de Don has been building his music journey since 2015, slowly shaping his sound in the local entertainment scene. Along the way, he’s shared the stage in Soweto with Saudi, a moment that added fuel to his growing ambition in music.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, he put it simply: “It’s that feeling when she says your name… and suddenly everything just hits different.”
With Say Ma Name, he leans into his softer, romantic side while still keeping the energy of Dancehall and Afropop alive, giving fans a track that fits both the streets and chilled moments.
