Lerato Vanessa Molikeng (20), popularly known as Alkebulan, from Evaton released her debut reggae released album titled ‘Salvation’ on 3 January.

The artist from Evaton who discovered her passion for music at the Zion Christian Church choir, said: “This 10 track album reflects my journey of self-discovery while promoting black excellence.”

Inspired by artists such as Erykah Badu, Bob Marley and Burning Spear, Alkebulan developed a unique style that blends conscious reggae, dancehall and Afro sounds producing tracks like “Mary Jane” featuring Empress Lily & Gangalee, “Rastafari” and “Moratuwa” featuring Luttan Ptyza.

The album produced by Cure Massyv Xklusiv features local and international acts, including Reign Africa, Skeleton Blazer, Shwaniyah from Dominica and more.

Alkebulan gave a shout out to her recording label, Gangalee Productions, founded by Bright Ndebele in Orange Farm: “A big thank you to the whole team for believing in me.”

Her discography includes notable tracks such as “Bon Op The Beast” featuring Empress Lily and Gangalee, part of the Holy Heights Riddim produced by Speela Records.

She urged readers to stream the album on digital platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify and more.
