Local artist and entrepreneur Teboho Pule, popularly known as FAKALO, is building his name through music and fashion while keeping the realities of Orange Farm at the centre of his work.
The 22-year-old artist from Orange Farm Extension 3 uses Sesotho hip hop to tell stories inspired by township life, including hustle, challenges, love and hope.
FAKALO combines melodic flows with raw kasi lyricism and draws inspiration from Sesotho hip hop artists such as Ntate Stunna and LaCkiid, while developing a sound and identity of his own.
He is now preparing to release a new album centred on the realities of township life.
“This album is about the hustle, love, encouragement and the real things we experience in Orange Farm. I want people to hear our stories and see that there is talent, ambition and hope coming from the kasi,” FAKALO said.
The album will also feature collaborations with ShaddyTee, Kmoo and Lamakhosikazi, bringing together different voices on a project centred on township experiences and everyday realities.
The project is being released under Ocean Music Record Label, marking another step in FAKALO’s growth as an artist.
The upcoming album aims to give listeners music they can relate to while putting everyday Orange Farm experiences into the spotlight.
For FAKALO, his creative ambitions extend beyond the recording studio.
In 2024, Pule established FAKALO MATERIAL 90C, a streetwear brand built around the slogan “Hustle Never Disappoint.”
The brand features a Crowned Bear mascot representing royalty, resilience and reward, with green, white and red forming part of its visual identity.
Through the clothing label, FAKALO is bringing together his interests in music, entrepreneurship and township street culture under one identity.
His journey reflects the ambitions of young township creatives who are using their talents not only to make music, but also to build businesses and create their own opportunities.
With Orange Farm Extension 3 remaining at the heart of his story, FAKALO hopes his music and clothing brand can eventually reach audiences far beyond his community.
For him, the message remains simple: “Hustle Never Disappoint.”
From Orange Farm Ext 3 to the world, FAKALO is determined to turn everyday kasi experiences into music, fashion and opportunity.
